Best:
Kilbarrack is really two areas divided alone the railway line, infact they are two separate parishes. Kilbarrack adjoining the sea is Kilbarrack Foxfield and the opposite side of the track is often referred to as Kilbarrack Swans Nest. If I can be a bit parocial, I'd like to say that Kilbarrack is one of the best areas in Dublin in which to live. I can only speak for the coastal part of the area, but It has local shops, churches, commuter hubs, amenities including beautiful coastal walks and open spaces. There is a good mix of old and young and everybody knows everybody. The local centra has a fine butcher and deli. You have no need for a car as everything on your doorstep.
Worst:
There are a small number of hoodulums (less than 10 in all) who have been successful in bring down the area. They are constantly burning trees within the grounds of Greendale school, breaking into cars and causing general mayhem. In the past, this could be taken care of "locally", but not any more. Crime, been in Kilbarrack since 1971 and have never been burgled.
My perfect area despite the crims
