Knocklyon (Irish: Cnoc Lín) is a suburb of Dublin, situated south west of Dublin city and north of the Dublin Mountains. Relatively new as an area independent of its neighbours Templeogue, Firhouse and Rathfarnham, it was not marked as a separate entity on maps until recently. The postcode for the area is Dublin 16. A focal point for the local community is the area comprising the local Superquinn supermarket and other smaller shops, as well as the Parish Church and the Community Centre which opened in 1989.
