Shankill (Irish: Seanchill, meaning "Old Church" or Sean Choill, meaning Old Wood) is a suburb of Dublin located in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County. The modern Shankill village centre consists mainly of a single street, with many amenities such as shops, pubs and other services. The village is located on the road between Shankill church and Bray. Sporting options in the area include two soccer teams, a Bowling Club with an all-weather surface and Shankill Tennis Club. The village recently won the national 'Best Urban Village Award' and two other awards in the Tidy Towns Competition.
