In April 2012, Bonnie released her first new album in seven years ‘Slipstream’ to widespread acclaim. Now, in summer 2013, she will bring her daring bluesy sound, steeped with inimitable slide guitar and soulful vocals, to the UK for much anticipated live shows.
After an emotional period, with such triumphs as her 2005 release and tour for ‘Souls Alike,’ and 2009 national tour with fellow blues legend Taj Mahal alongside the tragedy of losing her parents, her brother, and her best friend, Raitt decided to step back. “I took a hiatus from touring and recording to get back in touch with the other part of my life,” Raitt says of her decision to recharge her spirit and regain her personal balance before returning to action.
There’s no doubt that Raitt is re-energized. 'Slipstream' marked her biggest chart debut in the United States in two decades and is one of the top 5-selling independent albums of the year & 'Slipstream' has been nominated for a GRAMMY Award for Best Americana Album.
