La Cave

La Cave French · City Centre (South)

4.0 on December 27th, 2011

La Cave is a favorite spot of mine. It's a great place for just a glass of wine or for a three course meal. They do a great value early bird menu with a nice steak option for main course. It has a lovely Parisian feel - like an old wine bar. There is also an extensive wine list and seating upstairs.

I went to a wedding in Tullfarris last year and really enjoyed my stay there. The room we stayed in was gorgeous and really spacious. The staff were friendly and the food was very nice at the wedding (not sure what it is like in the normal restaurant). The wedding drink reception was in the "old ...

I got a ratemyarea voucher for a crepes & coffee in the HalfMoon and really enjoyed it. They have a large selection of both savory and sweet crepes. I went for the stewed apple & cinamon crepe with icecream - it was yum! The coffee was a bit strong for my taste but they do a good hot chocolate as...

I also went to the Little Museum of Dublin on a RateMyArea voucher and really enjoyed the experience. The museum is very small (only two rooms in total), but it has a lot to offer. It displays a varied range of items from the 20th century in Dublin The guided tour of the artefacts was really inte...

The busy bean cafe is just around the corner from where I work so I've had a few takeaway sandwiches from there. They have a great selection to choose from and the ingredients are always really fresh. I usually go for a tomato wrap with goats cheese, roasted vegetables and rocket and it always ta...

I went here for lunch last weekend after hearing great things about it. It's a very funky place with about 50 different types of tea in large glass jars - all smell lovely. They have a selection of sandwiches or sushi for lunch. I went for the "Bray" - smoked salmon & cream cheese bagel which was...

Pablo Picanté

Pablo Picanté Fast Food · City Centre (South)

Great burritos! I was never a burritos fan until I tried Pablo Picantes. The food is really fresh and tasty. I prefer the pablo picantes on Clarendon market (as opposed to the sister bar on Pembroke street) because it's got a decent seating area and you can sit outside too. My favourite burrito i...

Bellewstown Golf Club

Bellewstown Golf Club Golf · Bellewstown

4.0 on July 31st, 2011

I played this golf course last month after my fiance bought the ratemyarea deal (round of golf and buggy for 12euro). I'm not the most experienced golfer but I really enjoyed playing this course. The holes are quite long with a number of par 5's, so the buggy came in very useful. The course is qu...

I went to camden kitchen last wednesday for dinner and really enjoyed it. We were invited out for dinner by friends who had purchased the ratemyarea deal for camden kitchen. The restaurant itself is quite small but that creates a nice atmosphere and there is another small seating section upstairs...

Bloom Brasserie

Bloom Brasserie Brasserie · Ballsbridge

I went for dinner in Bloom Brasserie last night and was very impressed. My fiancee had bought the tapas deal from RateMyArea's Daily Deals so we thought we would give it a try. The deal was three tapas for 10 euro and the tapas are around 6 or 7 euro each. We got four tapas between us to share, a...

Aladdin's Café Café Restaurants · Donnybrook

5.0 on January 23rd, 2011

This is a great place for a group dinner - especially in these recessionary times! The food is tasty and cheap and best of all it's BYOB so it's a very affordable meal out. There's a really nice wine shop next door and a spar on the other side, so no need to carry your bottle of vino too far!

I went here for lunch this Sunday. It's nice to have another lunch option in Ranelagh - not that the old reliables ever disappoint! The cafe is small and was packed when we walked in, so we were lucky to get a table.

The lunch menu has a lot of options with different sandwiches, wraps and pani...

Great views from Poolbeg Lighthouse and a lovely walk along the Great South Wall to get to it. Takes roughly 2 hours to walk from the nearest carpark along Sandymount strand and back - well worth it!

The perfect place to meet for tea! I love the cafe sections on the first and second floors - especially if you can get a window seat over-looking Grafton Street. Great for people watching! Good for lunch too!

Great place for a drink or bite to eat. The Lotts decor is similar to a small version of cafe en seine, but with a nicer atmosphere. It's a good place for a quiet drink and it also has a decent food menu with reasonable prices.

I went for the Mexican Beef Burger, which came on a wrap (instead...

I went to The Pembroke a few times before it changed names to Matt the Thresher and it was nice for a quiet drink but there was never much of an atmosphere. The layout hasn't changed since the name changed and the only difference seems to be a lick of paint. When I stopped into the newly opened M...

Great place for lunch or for a casual bite to eat. Good selection of both rice and noodle dishes as well as ramen. They usually do good set menu deals and there are loads of healthy options on the menu. The Yaki Soba is a firm favourite, aswell as the differen types of gyoza!

I went to the Green Hen with a group of girls for a birthday dinner last week and had an enjoyable meal, so I was surprised at the negative reviews below. There's not that many good clubs in Dublin - but the village is definitely one of the good ones!

There's the main club upstairs and a bar downstairs - both have great music! The upstairs is good for gigs but I usually spend most of the night in the downstairs bar.

The bar downstairs is also...
