Good quick meal with the guys after going to a game. No booking, but they accommodated us. Meal was quickly served, we hadn't even finished our first beers when the meal came. Good service.
Price wasn't bad either. I'd go back, and certainly keep it in mind if I wanted a quick and good meal in ...
Was here the other day for a quick early meal on a Saturday. We didn't have a booking but the fitted us in, no hassle. Pizza was good, and the cheese cake is one of the best ever! I'd definitely go back.
read moreHandy location.
Good for papers and the lotto.
Avoid buying anything else though as it is very expensive, particularly for milk and biscuits. I did speak with the owner one day and he was of the opinion that he was charging fair prices, but 2 litres of milk was about a euro more expensive than...
Hi. A nice local restaurant.
Chilli and garlic prawn starter, good and not no too light on the prawns. Steak with chips for a main - tender and perfectly cooked. Dessert was a bit of a let down though. The wine was served at a good room temperature, not too cold as in most places - take note oth...
Interesting place with a lot of historical maps of Limerick. It's great to see how the area has changed. Other stuff too, but it didn't really catch my interest.
The lady that I spoke with was helpful and willing to chat; there was no one else in the museum so I suppose that she had time on her ...
Liked the atmosphere of this cafe. We were there for a late lunch one Thursday and the food was very good.
Coffee should have been good, I know the brand and if made right, it can be fantastic - see the Bald Barista in Aungier Street (it's his brand!) but this was too watery and just poor.
This establishment looks nice in an old world sort of way, therefore I was expecting quality food to match the impression. Unfortunately, its very average and not worth going out of your way for!
Not cheap either, which closes the deal on it's 2 star rating.
Good coffee, (the best that I have come across in Limerick - if you know a better place, let me know!), nice looking cakes.
Limerick's answer to Bulters Chocolate Cafe, maybe with a few more cakes!
Went to this shop to get some indian spices (the real deal - they're re-sellers of the Green Saffron) and was surprised by all the good food to be had!
will definitely be going back!
read moreHad breakfast here one morning. It was fine, but nothing to write home about.
I had spotted this cafe the day before and thought that it looked good (first impressions and all that), gotta say that I was a little disappointed as it's little more than a 'greasy spoon'. But not expensive, so you ...
I stayed here for a few days on a business trip. Nice rooms, kept clean. No complaints on that front.
Food was served in the bar/restaurant - no separate breakfast room. Good menu and the early bird menu ('til 7.30pm) was good value. The dessert I had was excellent.
Good central location, you ...
Called into this place and was very surprised by the quality offered. Looks basic, and only has a few seats inside, but it makes up for it with the food. All very tasty and the soup was better than you'd get in a posh hotel. Just shows that price and reputation are overrated!
Would recommend it...
Had a coffee and panini, all fine but nothing to write home about. The coffee was just a bit to watery which, in my opinion always spoils it!
That said, there was plenty of seating and newspapers to browse, so a nice relaxed atmosphere.
Went to Vaughan's Eagle House for lunch yesterday. Food was good, coffee was better than I expected and staff were friendly. Menu was good, but portion sizes were small. It was reasonable value.
I like the decor, clean dark wood and not 'themed'. Don't know what it's like in the evenings!
Went here with a few friends and had a lovely meal. Everyone thought that it was great, good food and good wine.
Its basic in terms of decoration and not as pretentious as other restaurants around, but thats refreshing. Highly recommended.
Had chips and a battered sausage. Never again! i suspect that the sausage may have just been a bit too old.
read moreGood food, and it's great to have a different menu. I like the fact that they always give you chop sticks, it makes the experience more authentic.
We collect, so it's 30 minutes from the phone call to collection, which is just enough time to get there, pop into the off licence for a bottle of w...
This is a place where you can just call in and ask a question, And more importantly get a straight answer!
When I went here first, it was after getting a Mazda serviced at Europa Motors in Blackrock where they completely ripped me off, did work that was not instructed and replaced bits that did...
We went here on a Friday for lunch, nothing planned but the weather was poor and it looked nice. The decor is nice but very loud considering that it was more empty than full, so not a place for a quiet meal. Staff friendly and efficient. The food was ok, but nothing to recommend. You can get a be...
read moreMy first visit to Hugo's and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. The food was good, the staff friendly and the wine very nice. We didn't book but they did accommodate us in the window seat by the door, so draughty when the later diners came in and managed to stand in the door for too long a t...
