Vivian is the best dentist I've ever had, hands down.
He's friendly, he makes you feel comfortable the second you walk in and he's always been completely honest and upfront with my about what's wrong and what I need to get fixed. He's incredibly good at what he does, I've never had a problem w...
read moreI went in here with my cousin when he was in a pretty bad way and the staff were great. It was hectic and I'm sure there was a lot of pressure on them, as with any hospital, but they were always professional and took good care of him. You can always complain about the Irish healthcare system, but...
read moreEasily one of my favourite spots around here to drop in for a quick hot drink on the go. They have a really nice selection of food too, if you're feeling peckish, and they normally have some great deal going on so it's always good value.
Can't get enough of this place, the only problem is peop...
read moreHad my first ever coffee in this place, and it's been treating me well ever since! They always have a really delicious selection of cakes and pastries too, so it's worth nipping in for those if nothing else! The only downside is it's often busy, but what else can you expect from somewhere with th...
read moreLovely spot if you get a nice day. There's plenty of outdoor seating so you can watch the Viking Splash Tour chug by or throw things at people kayaking. The coffee is decent, but nothing to write home about. They do a lovely caramel slice, though! Quite a nice competitor to Il Valentino across th...
read moreApparently not the best coffee in Dublin, but it's cheap, it's quick and they're always running some sort of deal, so it gets my vote! Great location too, really close to St. Stephen's Green and the shopping centre. Check out whatever special they might have in the window, it's probably great value.

When I was working nearby this was always the best place to go to grab a quick coffee. For a Butlers, their hot chocolate is something of an acquired taste. Although it's still very good it is a little bitter, so if you'd rather something that's a bit creamier then you'd be better to nip a couple...
read moreQuite a nice train station, although because it's go three platforms it always feels like there should be more going on there than there actually is. Still, it's a well placed station if you feel like skipping a walk down Pearse street, and every now and then you'll see an old steam train parked ...
read moreYou'd never think it, but this store just seems to be perfectly placed. I've lost count of the number of times I've been walking to something, or walking back from something and finding that I needed some odd, random little knick-knack (or a pile of cheap sweets) and this store's always been just...
read moreThere's a really fantastic selection of stuff here, but none of it's on display. As soon as you walk in, you're going to notice just how tightly-packed all the racks are and while there's some great value and really nice clothes to be found, you've got to dig and dig to find them.
It's never c...
read moreIf you're a fan of WWE (or WWF, as I still can't help but call it. Oh, for the glory days of Hulk Hogan and the Macho Man!) then this is pretty much the only option you've got in Dublin. It's packed full of the slightly-metal-themed t-shirts and hoodies that you need to completely hide your body ...

Fantastic spot to wander around for a little while if you've got half an hour to kill in the city centre. Unfortunately, you probably won't get much more than half an hour out of this spot, unless you're really into your bohemian chic.
There are costume stores, lots of places to buy vinyl reco...
read moreSome friends of mine stayed here a while back, and they had only praise for it. I mean, it's a hostel, so it's pretty bare bones, but it was cheap, clean, the staff were lovely and very helpful, they had no trouble at all and when they asked the staff if they could stay on an extra couple of nigh...
read moreGot a RateMyArea voucher here once a while ago and now I can't stop going back! They do really lovely crepes and they're pretty reasonably priced, even when you're not getting two for the price of one. They have a really nice range of stuff too, you can get some interesting crepes, and I still ha...

As far as Micky D's go, this one isn't that bad. It tends to be pretty clean, there's generally enough security around to keep out anyone that's too pissed on a Saturday night and it's a great spot to nip out of the rain or use the jacks if you're in Dublin for a little while and have nothing bet...

It's a loud, garish, moneypit that's hard to escape from once you get sucked in, but damn it, it can be fun sometimes! It's got every kind of cash-eating machine known to man with plenty of gambling and video games on offer. It falls somewhere between every arcade you remember from your childhood...
read moreIt can be a bit on the pricey side, but a lot of the stuff in here is pretty damn hard to find in any other store. The quality can be a mixed bag, but it'd generally pretty good (if slightly tattered, in some cases).
The selection is pretty great, though. A lot of it is properly vintage, with ...
read moreThis is a funky place with a touch of the strange about it. One time I was walking past they had a huge sign in the window that said "Robert Mugabe is not welcome". Given that he wasn't in the country at the time, I'm not sure he'd be all that put out, but whatever.
The clothes don't really se...
read moreBloody gorgeous ice cream! The only downside there is to this place is 1) it's a bit on the pricey side and 2) it hasn't got a seating area inside or anything, so you can't go in to enjoy ice cream during the winter (which tends to last from August to May in Dublin). Otherwise, they're fantastic!
