The only thing the restaurant has got going for itself is the chef because the food was lovely … service appalling.
One of my friends recommended Alfies when we were trying to decide where to go for our annual meal out, I booked a table for 11 people two weeks in advance. We had decided to meet up early for cocktails in the restaurant bar before our meal at 8.30.
This is where the restaurant management really fell short in the customer service area, we were greeted at the door by the floor manageress with the information that they had given our table away and a shrug of the shoulders, they claimed they had phoned me several times that day to see if we still wanted the table. I received ONE missed call on my phone at 5.27pm, there was NO message left to say “ please let the restaurant know if you no longer require your table” there was no message.
We were left waiting an hour and a half for a table and because it was a Saturday night and a large group we didn’t think any other restaurant would be able to accommodate us or we would have left.

I went to Alfie's for dinner last night. I was pleasantly surprised. I had not noticed the restaurant before. Situated next door to Dakota, it is easy to walk past. They have limited seating downstairs and lots of seating upstairs. cocktails were only €5 and were really good. the food was great. My only complaint is that the steak was expensive at €29. All the other dishes were reasonable priced. It is worth trying.
