Avoca started as a small shop at the Avoca Mill in Wicklow. From simply selling its own rugs, throws and scarves, Avoca now stocks literally thousands of products from kidswear and toys to knitwear and jewelery. Avoca sells women's and men's clothing, ceramics, glass, books, gifts and homewares (stocking brands like Nicholas Mosse Pottery). In many of it's stores you'll find foodhalls, kitchen shops, graden centres or one of it's award-winning Avoca Cafés.

This review is mostly for the cafe, but I'll get the shop out of the way. For the most part this is rather over-priced. Nice things, but expensive.
Now, the cafe. This is a very versatile place. I've eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner here and never been disappointed with the food. Its a particular favourite of mine for a morning coffee and scone (of which there are a wide variety). The cakes are also delicious. For lunch there are a selection of salads, sandwiches/baps/paninis and hot and cold mains. It can get very, very, very busy, but an extensive remodelling of the interior has improved the space available and improved the atmosphere no end. A mention has to go to the surrounding grounds also, which are perfect for a stroll around in summer. Or when the weather's dry.
Last thing, most of the food in the cafe is available to take away in the food section, which also does a range of bread (and the aforementioned scones). There is an extensive food store full of an eclectic mix, much of it Avoca branded. Jams, salads, cakes, pesto, pretty much anything is there. Watch the prices though.
