Barberstown Castle is a luxury hotel. It was originally a castle. You will not be staying in a "castle" as such, but all the rooms have four poster beds. There is a banqueting hall built in the courtyard which is a popular venue for weddings and events.

I was at a wedding in Barberstown Castle recently. The banqueting hall is ideal for a wedding. It was great. However, things went sour after the wedding. We found out that there was a service charge of €17.50 per person to have breakfast delivered to the room. This did not include the cost of breakfast. This is obviously to discourage having food brought to your room. This was confirmed when we tried to order some room service. They did not have any. The rooms were spacious, all with beautiful large four poster beds but only one shower gel for two people! For the price we were paying I was expecting luxury. We got Holiday Inn standard in pleasant surroundings.
