I'm tempted to give this place 2 stars, but I feel that would be a bit harsh. The food is pretty solid, and when I've been there I haven't left disappointed by my mains. But it isn't GREAT food, and in pretty much every department the restaurant is hit and miss. Mike B below is spot on. Don't go out of your way, but if you've tried the rest and want a nice dinner overlooking the seafront, give it a go.

First off, I'm only awarding this place three stars because I'm very much in two minds. There's some really good things about Barracuda but equally there are some not-so-good things too... so do you want to hear the good news or the bad news first? Well, the good news is that if you're lucky enough to get a window table (or any table in the vicinity of the window) the views are amazing (especially on a Summer's evening). The service is usually very efficient however on the evening I was there, while efficient enough, a fussier foodie could have picked holes in certain aspects of the service. The bad news is that the wine list is a bit limited and doesn't seem to provide the right information - it goes on about nuts and fruit, etc., when all I really want to know is name, year, grape and region - the rest I'll decide myself (but maybe that's just me!). The food can be a bit hit and miss, my starter wasn't great (Deep Fried Brie Parcel) but the steak I had for my main course was good. I also witnessed another table complain about the food which probably didn't help matters. If I was asked if I'd recommend this place, I'd probably use my film answer, I wouldn't go to the cinema but I'd rent it on DVD - what I mean by this is that I wouldn't go out of my way but if you're in Bray and you want a little bit more than a casual meal while also taking in the views that the seafront has to offer - go for it!
