Bellinter is a great hotel for a relaxing getaway. I stayed there recently for a weekend after I was given a gift voucher for my birthday. The hotel has the typical country house look with the characteristic long driveway approach, however once you enter the house the stylish mix of modern interior design with old world charm hits you straight away.

Although the hotel is not very big in size it has a lot to offer including a family games room (with all the usual suspects... monopoly, scrabble etc. as well as wellies!) and a games room for the adults (with pool table and flat screen tv) with easy access to the small but cosy bar. The main lounge area is ideal to grab a bite to eat at lunch and there are stairs down to tables and chairs out the back of the house... if the weather is good!

We stayed in one of the wing rooms which was large modern and clean, and perfect for what we were looking for. When we were leaving we had a peak into one of the rooms in the main house which are quite a bit more expensive but it is obvious why as the rooms are even larger with impressive interior design and great views of the surrounding country-side.

Unfortunately, the main dining room does not have views of the Boyne river valley that runs beside the house but the food makes up for the lack of views! The restaurant is called Eden and is as impressive as it's sister restaurant in Temple Bar.

The hotel also has a spa, swimming-pool and outdoor hot-tub.

The only fault I could find with the hotel was the lack of grounds for walks but saying that there are lots of places for walks only a short drive near-by!
