Tucked away off the Goatstown Road, Bin No. 9 is a hidden gem for those looking for an informed selection of wines at prices that are more reasonable than you typically find in similar shops closer to Ranelagh or Donnybrook. Have shopped there on a number of occasions and the owner has always been exceptionally helpful, providing some excellent wine recommendations. There is also a small but interesting selection of beers available. Definitely worth a visit if you happen to be passing through the area.

A little off the beaten track and not being from the area, I only came across this place by pure chance while trying to take a short-cut to Dundrum during heavy traffic - thanks to the eye-catching and inviting façade of Bin No. 9 it turned out to be a long cut in the end! This place is a textbook wine shop.... scattered open crates to explore, racks and racks of wine (of all regions & price ranges) and an owner who knows his stuff! I picked up two bottles of Rioja (Coto de Imaz 2001 Reserva) which was excellent but the real find was a beer I had been searching for for ages, an Alsace beer brewed from Champage Yeast, Kasteel Cru. For stocking this beer alone Bin No. 9 deserves 5 stars!
