The tradition of Indian cooking understands and respects the concept of vegetarian food. As such I assumed that Bombay Pantry would be reliable place to get a vegetarian meal. Halfway through my last order I discovered that I had been served meat. I could live with the inconsistency of their sauces, but not with meat in a dish that had been sold to me as vegetarian. What is going on in their kitchen? its not hard to keep ingredients separate, be they halal, vegetarian, raw or cooked. scary! (i had to give one star in order to post)
Have to go against the grain here and say Bombay Pantry in Clonskeagh is considerably over-rated. It's relatively cheap. But the food is a little greasy and many of the sauces taste watered-down. The portions of meat used in many of the dishes are not exactly generous either. I've tried it several times, but have found better options for Indian takeaway in Stillorgan and Ranelagh.
I'm not the biggest fan of Indian food but the Biryani Chicken here is really delicious and they are doing a special meal deal at the moment for €25 which includes two main course dishes, a selection of starters, naan bread and rice which I thought was pretty good value. Only downside is they close at 10.30pm on the weekends so you'll have to go elsewhere if you're thinking of popping by after last orders!
The doyen of Indian Takeaways in Ireland. The food is top quality and unlike other indian takeaways it always looks fresh and natural - no pink tikka masala here!! The only downside is their delivery service which can be very slow. So I try to pick it up instead. Its good value too.
Excellent Indian takeaway - like all the other Bombay Pantrys the food here is cooked fresh for all to see. I always admire restaurants and takeaways that aren't afraid to open up the kitchen and let their customers have a good old gawk at their food being cooked - for me it inspires confidence! Delivery time on average is around the thirty minute mark and food ordered for collection can be as quick as 15 minutes. They also have a fridge full of pre-made Marks & Spencer style boxed dinners which you can buy to cook yourself at a later date, I've never tried one but they look interesting. I would highly recommend this place - 4 stars from me!
