Lives 2.76 km from Canal View Dental Surgery

I went to Canal View for a root canal with Dr. Emara which cost 645 euros. He immediately suggested the next tooth also needed a root canal (sales pressure to get an additional 645 euros). But there was nothing wrong with that second tooth. He doesn't use a dental dam which is essential to keep moisture out of the newly drilled tooth. His hand is unsteady; at times the drill slipped and knocked into other teeth. After a couple of visits, when the root canal was finished, the tooth still felt sensitive. This was strange because there's not supposed to be any nerves left in the tooth. He said it was the surrounding tissue that was inflamed. But even after many months, I still had nerve sensation in the tooth and it wasn't comfortable. Finally, I traveled abroad and went to see my previous dentist who had always been excellent. He showed me huge blow-up x-rays on a video screen proving that the so-called root canal performed by Dr. Emara still had one of the four roots completely untouched (untreated) and that 2 nerves in the tooth had not been fully removed. Dr. Emara had only partially removed those nerves from the tooth. One of the roots (nerves) had not been drilled at all! As for the second tooth that Dr. Emara said needed a root canal - it was fine, no signs of trouble. Dr. Emara's x-rays were only the size of a postage stamp, almost impossible to see anything in detail. Abroad, I saw a huge video screen with x-rays confirming everything I've written here. It cost me another 1500 euros to fix Dr. Emara's poor work and get a proper root canal.

Needless to say, I don't recommend Dr. Emara or Canal View.

I wouldn't recommend this dentist. He didn't answer my questions very well, and kind of rushed me into a decision whether to go ahead with a procedure. Now I regret visiting him.
