Bruno & Sergio Costa set up their famous coffee roastery in Lambeth, London in 1971, supplying local caterers and Italian coffee shops with an exciting coffee, slow-roasted the Italian way. People couldn’t get enough of it and by 1978 the first Costa espresso bar opened in London. To this day Costa still use the same method of slow-roasting their coffee beans to serve-up their distinctive blend.

Decent sandwiches, great staff and reliable coffee - what more could you ask for?

Even though this café is in the middle of a retail/business park, it's quite pleasant to sit outside it on a sunny day - it gets pretty busy during peak times and at weekends so not always as pleasant as it could be.

All in all a good motorway pit-stop and a handy place to know about!

Even though it's part of a big chain this place is actually pretty good, lovely fresh pastries and cakes and a good selection of sandwiches and panini's. As Rory S pointed out it's always quite busy here but I've always managed to get a table. You wouldn't go out of your way to go here but given that it's the only respite from all the Harvery Norman's and PC World's up there it's always a welcome break. The coffee is great too and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly.
