Reviews for Del Rio's Café

The menu is very extensive, with something for everyone, and you will not find a better breakfast in the entire city.

I came over to Dublin for a holiday, last month. While in the city centre, myself and my other half were looking for a place to eat. We asked someone running Dublin Bus Tours. They sent us around the corner, to this place. We were a little unsure about the area as a lot of the buildings look run down. We turned the corner and saw a green coloured shop front.
It is really well presented.
We went in and sat down at a large table. It wasn't very busy. I was a little unsure about it because of this. The menu is perfect. They have a little of everything. My other half is vegetarian. He ordered a veggie burger and chips. After looking at everything about 3 times, I decided on the fresh cod and chips. We both ordered cans of coke. The waitress was really lovely and smiley. Her accent was really strong.
The food came out after a while. The portion sizes are absolutely huge. I was a little over whelmed by it. Everything was fresh and tasted really great. I didn't finish everything but was offered a take home bag. Which I declined.
The prices are really good. Remember it is the middle of Dublin City Centre.
If I return to Dublin, I will go here again.
Very impressed.

I was in the city centre on a Saturday with my two children, we had heard a lot of good things about this chipper and thought we would try it. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a man behind the counter, perhaps he was the owner. Even though they were rather busy, he could still make the customers feel welcome. It was a lovely thing to walk in to and be part of. we sat down at the large table by the window. my children are 6 and 9. They were able to choose from a childrens menu. When the waitress came over, my boy asked if he was able to have cod, the waitress told me that they had some small pieces but it would be a little more expensive than the childrens menu, but still came with a drink. I agreed to this. I got myself a 1/4 lber and chips with a cup of white coffee and my other child got a childrens size nuggets and chips, the children both got capri suns. I loved the layout of the shop as I looked around, I felt like I was sitting in my own kitchen, It was a lovely feel to the shop. The white coffee was really creamy, it tasted really well made. The coffee was regular strenght which was really good. The food came out and the portion of chips on mine were a lot. The children portions were a great size. we ate and paid. The children got lollipops after thier meals too. The prices of the food were well chosen. I will definitly be returning there. I was really impressed.
