Located in the heart of Ranelagh Village, Dillinger's is a bistro style restaurant with American influences. There is a range of cocktails on offer and the wine list offers a good selection of wine (with three Italian house wines to choose from). Dillinger's is open for both lunch and dinner.

I went here for brunch on Sunday and was lucky to get a seat at the bar! Next time I will be ignoring my partner--Just show up, he said. They'll have room, he said.--and will be making a reservation. It was crowded, but not uncomfortably so, and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the eggs benedict, which were FANTASTIC, and my partner ordered the special: huevos rancheros with fresh guacamole. I stole a nibble and must say that they were perfect as well. Actually, everything that came out of the kitchen had me salivating! My only complaint is that the prices seem a bit on the high side, but everything tastes so good that I don't really care.
Nevertheless, Dillinger's remains one of my favourite places to eat in Ranelagh, and I'll definitely be going back.
One of the most disappointing dining experiences I have had. A diner with delusions..
Starter was calamari which was under-cooked and swimming in a pool of garlic mayo.
Mains were rack of lamb and Kentucky fried chicken. My partner was pleased with the chicken apart from the corn-on-the-cob side which had most definitely been microwaved.
As for the lamb I was once more left with a dish swimming in pureed garlic under the guise of being hummus. For almost €30 I expected far more than four tiny chops, a small salad and coloured garlic on my plate.
Service was pleasant and according to my partner the cheesecake too.
Dillinger's diner is not for me!

Giving this 5 stars as they do the best burgers in Dublin hands down. Forget all the 'gourmet' burger nonsense, this is where it's at. Very good brunch too. Pity about the booking but if you're really desperate to clinch a table, then book at Butcher's Grill down the road - it's the sister restaurant and even better!!

i was really impressed with Dillinger's as I had heard mixed things before going. There was a great buzz in the place and all our food was excellent and the staff were really friendly. In fact it probably deserves five stars!
Great food in the middle of the hub of Ranelagh. Terrific atmosphere, if a little noisy. Fiona is most helpful and the rest of the staff were lovely too. The menu is a little different and everything we had (there were 4 of us) was delicious.
Highly recommended.

Recently went for lunch with a group, and everyone was impressed. Had a delicious New England Clam Chowder to start, followed by a perfectly cooked steak. It's reasonably priced, and the service was good. Definitely interested in trying brunch.
I went to Dillinger's for dinner last week and loved it! The food was great and there was a really good buzzy atmosphere. I went for the sweet potato & chili soup for starter and the fish of the day for main - both were really tasty.
I loved the wine list - which is split up into cheap, decent and good - I went for a glass of the decent white which was pretty good! It's a very similar menu to Schillers & Pastis restaurants in NY, in keeping with the american style!
I deducted one star as, like Helena said below, you can only book for groups of more than 5. We arrived just before 7.00pm on a Friday and were told that there would be an hour and a half wait, but the hostess was very friendly and there are lots of good pubs nearby so we decided to wait. The hostess rang back in less than an hour, so we were glad we had waited.
I will definitely be going back to try the brunch!

This is a great place for brunch at the weekends. The food is very tasty and there is a good choice on the menu, the staff are very friendly and it is the kind of place that you feel like you can stay all day if you are not in a hurry. There is a nice busy atmosphere in the place. Be careful though it is becoming very popular and they only take bookings for groups of 5 or more. I have also eaten here in the evenings and it does not disappoint.
