The idea for Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) originated in New Zealand; where once the traditional burger was seen purely as a fast food option, gourmet burgers have knocked tradition on the head. Gourmet Burger Kitchen has created a nutritious sophisticated product using the best and freshest ingredients available.

Took a few goes to get their attention everytime we wanted it, but when you did get them they were grand. Lots of outdoor seating so it's a popular place when the sun is shining, and the inside tables aren't on-top of eachother as they are in many places...
With a good deal of a burger, chips and a drink for a tenner, I can recommend this spot for lunch. The burger was satisfying and there were no difficulties with service (though admittedly it was quiet at the time). There are tables outside with big heaters for cold smokers, while the interior is functional if uninspiring.

I was here for a work night last night and was very disappointed. The private room up-stairs is nice but its layout makes it hard to mix a group. The service was shocking it was really hard to believe that it was so bad. The burgers came 2 minutes after the starters and only 10 minutes after being ordered then the chips and onion rings came about 15/20 minutes later when people were almost finished thier burgers. The burgers are okay and there are some interesting options on the menu but it is not as good as the many many burger places around and I agree with HG when he says that Eddie Rockets is better.
Great location across from powerscourt and nice if you get good weather to sit outside. Burgers are just average. Chips and onion rings are nothing special. Overall its just ok. Jo Burger in Rathmines or even Eddie Rockets have tastier burgers.
Maybe it's a sign of the times but who would have thought the Rhino Room/Cookes Restaurant would now be a burger joint. That said, at least it's a gourmet one!
I ate here a couple of weeks ago on my way from the pub to a club and I must say I really enjoyed it. The burger was good and the beer was even better - to say it was a gourmet burger might be pushing it slightly as there wasn't a hint of kobe about it! The chips were a little on the chunky side for my liking but that's just a personal thing. It's an expensive alternative to Burger King and McDonald's but it really does give the likes of Eddie Rockets a run for it's money.
Personally, I'll probably stick to Burger King and McDonald's during nights out but follow it up with a gourmet burger the day after... when I know I'll appreciate it that little bit more! All in all, a good experience and one I'd repeat...
