Hodges Figgis, Ireland's largest bookshop, is conveniently located on Dawson Street (near the busy Grafton Street shopping area). It was founded in 1768 and is mentioned in James Joyce's novel Ulysses. The shop was not always located here and has moved at least three times in the past hundred years.

Good bookshop, though rather dangerous because I always find something I'd like to read. Prices are a bit high compared to what I could find online, but they're convenient and have what I am looking for in stock most of the time. The history section is especially nice!

This is my favourite bookshop in Dublin, and not just because they have a huge James Joyce display in the window right now. Even though it is a bit expensive compared to second-hand shops and The Internet, Hodges Figgis has everything one could ever need to read right there; and if it doesn't, they're happy to order it for you and call you when it's in! It's especially perfect for students looking to get ahold of weird texts for class. Plus, their loyalty card gets you €10 off once you fill it up with €100 worth of stamps, so if you are like me and prefer your books on a shelf rather than on a screen, it's a pretty good deal.

Easily the best bookshop in Dublin, its got a very large selection of books and there's even a bargain basement. However, its a pity there's no coffee shop here as that was one of the best things about Waterstones.

Best place to shop for medical books. If they don't stock the one you want, you can ask the customer service and they can order it for you to be picked up later. They even call you when the book arrives at the store.

If you are looking for a book and can't find it, then pop into Hodges Figgis on Dawson. They have by far the largest selection in Dublin. This is especially true in the sci fi & fantasy sections.

Lovely store and very knowledgable staff, can be pricey so I only go here after Chapters on Parnell St but still a great place to shop in.
