They always have a really delicious selection of cakes and pastries too, so it's worth nipping in for those if nothing else! The only downside is it's often busy, but what else can you expect from somewhere with that much deliciousness packed into it?
The coffee is only as good as the coffee maker. I sometimes don't bother ordering it if my two favourite baristas are not on. Excellent selection of pastries, lovely setting but quite pricey. Their breads are scrumptious. Great for a treat in the morning time or after work.

The setting is probably one of the best things about this place, but it's definitely not the only good thing. It's built right on the Grand Canal, giving you a really nice view of the recently redeveloped area and on a nice summer's day it's a gorgeous spot to sit and enjoy a coffee or something cooler.
It's half café and half bakery, with a great selection of breads, tarts and buns on offer (and some lovely sandwiches and quiches too, if you're looking for something savory). Their coffees are really nice too, so the only problems I have with the place are 1- there isn't enough seating so it can get a little cramped and 2- it's a bit on the expensive side, with you easily paying €7 for a small bit of cake and a coffee. Not unusual expensive for Dublin or anything, but there's definitely better value out there. Of course, having said that it's still a really great spot and I do recommend it, for the great selection of treats alone.

A great lunch spot in Grand Canal Square, big selection of tasty sandwiches and a different homemade soup everyday. Mostly italian staff too which is always a good sign.
Great coffee, nice panini and some outdoor seating, can't fault the place!
Il Valentino is a very good bakery with continental style breads and pastries. The quality is very good to superb but the prices are outrageous. Aditionally the café can often be found cram-full with people queuing on the counter especially in on weekend mornings.

Great coffee, nice food, Wifi, but gets busy and sometimes the staff are just a little two busy talking to each other to notice you if you get what I mean. Cafe Java around the corner has half the atmosphere but the coffee is generally as good and there are no queues in the morning.
