I've avoided this place for quite some time, due to the casual assault attitude of the bouncers (endorsed by Tony, who watches them) Typical scenario: walking in off the footpath the bouncer pretends not to see. Then as you're about to pass, you get the firm hand on your chest. That b.s. is utterly illegal, and they've been at it since the 1990's. Maybe they think that giving Gardai nixers on the door down through the years means that they don't have to abide by the law? I'm not tempted to find out ... nice enough place but one to avoid unless you're okay with aggressive apes on the way in and being assaulted.

A few years ago "Jim's" was a credible rival to the Porterhouse next-door. But there is about as much chance of this now as Preston N.E. winning the Premier League. "Jim's" suffers from under-investment, with wear-and-tear taking it's toll, and badly in need of refreshment.

Very very basic pub food really does not compare to the gastropub microbrewery next door. Drinks are only major brands.
