I had a similar experience to Ciaran L which was a real blow as I had been looking forward to eating here since it opened.

Jo Burger is a split level restaurant and bar. The bar is downstairs and serves as a holding area while you wait for a table upstairs. I don't believe you can reserve a table so the wait in the bar can be excessive which isn't ideal as the bar will gladly charge you 5.70euro for a pint of Budvar.

Upstairs to the restaurant, its not a comfortable environment. I felt like I was back in the school canteen sitting on a bench with my jacket on the floor. Its decorated in a kitsch fashion with odd trinkets scattered about the place which distracts you while you wait and wait to be served. The menus were sellotaped to old Beano and Dandy annuals which was abit of fun and a talking point.

Most people at my table were happy with the food. My burger had an overwhelming taste of cinnamon but there was no mention of cinnamon in the description on the menu............I don't like cinnamon. No starters, no dessert menu, once you get you're food you do feel a little rushed which is odd seeing as it took so long to give the order in the first place.

Like Ciaran L said; hopefully these are just teething problems but I can't see myself eating here again for a good while if ever.

I ate here last night, and was quite disappointed as I was expecting this place to be great after hearing a few people sing it's praises.

It took 15 minutes for us to get to order, then a further 40 minutes of waiting before we got our burger and chips. This is WAY longer than I'm prepared to wait in a burger joint!

The food was nice, but not spectacular, which isn't really good enough given the abundance of high-end burger joints in Dublin these days.

After receiving our food our only further requests were ordering another drink + asking for the bill. Both times we had to ask again after 5-10 minutes as the staff had clearly forgotten about us.

The restaurant is new, and was fairly busy, so it's possible that most of my issues with it will be resolved as the staff get used to the job. If this happened I'd probably go back.
