Raters say we are...  poor service, unhappy, expensive, disappointed

I had read positive comments on other review pages and was impressed at Joseph Kramer's professional web page so I was really looking forward to treating my neglected hair to a bit of t.l.c in such a respected salon. However my excitement quickly turned to disappointment soon after.

On arriving, my stylist (I didn't catch her name, but I know she is one of the older, more experienced stylists there) plonked me down on the chair, informed me that I needed about two inches off and led me to get my hair washed. I was a bit dismayed as I had read on their website about their 'one on one service' and had hoped we could discuss the quality of my hair (it was quite dry) and what cut we could go for to revive it. The hair wash itself has always been my favorite part of the experience so I was disappointed when she finished quickly (the salon was not busy, there was only one other) and with the ever changing water temperature (it frequently changed from quite hot to quite cool).

The cut itself was ok, but when I asked for a little more off at the end, she looked at me like I had two heads and stated that I had only asked for two inches off. It was the same situation when I politely asked her to dry my hair straight instead of the curls she was doing at the end, she informed me that 'everyone usually wants curls'. I wasn't offered tea or coffee and felt rushed out of the door. It was only later I realized she never offered to put serum or wax in the hair to finish the cut off.

All in all, an average cut for a hefty prize. I feel that you could get just as good of a cut (and hopefully much better service) for half the price somewhere else.

To sum up: a salon resting on its laurels.
