Leopardstown Racecourse was established in 1888 and was built by Captain George Quin, having been modelled on Sandown Racecourse in England. Over the years, Leopardstown has been continuously upgraded and developed to establish itself as one of the premier racecourses in Europe. It's state-of-the-art facilities means it plays host to some of the top race calendar meetings.

A great facility which badly needs better public transport links - there's been many a day (and night!) that I have made the long and lonely walk to the main road to get a taxi or bus... but hopefully the next phase of the LUAS will help sort this out to some extent! I also think it would double up as a great 'park and ride' facility due to it's proximity to the city centre and access to the M50... just a thought!
