This is my fave place to go shopping. It's full of amazing ingredients and I disagree with the last review, they have some really good special offers every month. I love the hugh selection of Barilla pasta impossible to find anywhere else, the biscuits and chocolates are always full of temptations, Bauli cakes are great for mid mornign snacks. Their opening hours could do with adjusting as its very hard to shop here at weekends, however the frindly staff said they are extending their openign hours very soon. Its easy to see why this place supplies to the wholesale trade they have a big premises and a facility to host a good stock. I've also seen their delivery vans around town deliverign to some of the best restaurants and hotels. It also one of the few places that offers a 10% discount when you buy full cases of something, I usually stock up on Sanpellegrino here as it works our very reasonable.

I was really excited about visiting "Little Italy" and had been planning to take a trip in there for awhile - it's a wholesalers that stocks just Italian goods and while it's aimed at the catering industry, it's also open to the public. However, it's only open on Saturday mornings at the weekend and it closes at 1pm so make sure you plan your Friday night accordingly (unlike me on so many occasions!).

When I got there, it was probably a bit smaller than I had imagined... that said, the shelves and fridges were packed full of Italian stuff - Italian meats, Italian cheeses, Italian pastas, Italian olive oil, Italian balsamic vinegar, Italian wines & spirits, Italian chocolates (baci) and lots of Italian (Lavazza) coffee....

...the only thing that was missing was ITALIAN PRICES!! :(

If you've ever been to Italy, you'll realise just how ridiculous the markup is on the goods they sell here - I've no idea how a restaurant could make money sourcing it's goods from here. That said, it's food is the real deal and it's a great place to explore if you're into Italian food... you just wouldn't want to be doing your weekly shop here.

Lookout for the espresso vending machine at the checkout area which does charge Italian prices - €1 for an espresso and it's pretty good too! :)
