A walk through the picturesque seaside village of Howth would not be complete without a visit to Mauds. Here you can cool down and escape the heat with a scoop or two of their famous ice creams in many different flavours. While Mauds specialty is Ice Cream it also has some tasty food on the menu.

Raters say we are...  stodgy, ice cream

Called in here for a coffee after a run around Howth Head the other day. The food and coffee were okay but nothing spectacular. One thing you might notice is that there are no prices on display anywhere when you go to order. And when you go to pay afterwards you'll find out why: A simple coffee and cake came to €8. While I don't mind paying above the odds for quality, this place certainly doesn't justify it.

Walked around Howth Head on Sunday. The weather was perfect, the walk was pretty straight-forward. Afterwards we stopped into Howth village for some ice-cream and a coffee. We saw Mauds and thought we'd give it a go. It's a simple place - not like the superslick coffee houses you'll find in the IFSC. More like a proper seaside-town café - rickety chairs and all. There's a good selection of ice creams to choose from. Tried the waffles and cake but neither was up to much - so you'd be wise to steer clear. Coffee wasn't the best either. Think of this place as an ice-cream parlour and you'll be right.

Keywords: ice cream, stodgy
