Yes its trendy, but that is pretty irrelevant if they don't do a good job.

Sadly they do not.

I have regular manicures so I know a good one from a bad one - and this was bad.

Firstly, it might be acceptable with false nails to saw backwards and forward with a rough nail file, it is not with real nails. It damages your nails as mine are now.

I asked for the same shape to be retained and for only a small amount of length to be taken off.

My nice long oval nails were turned into square stumps - the whole nail shaping took less than five minutes.

Next we moved on the cuticles - very badly done, and to be honest I have never actually had a manicurist cut the tops of my fingers at the side of nails with scissors before and it was not necessary. This leads to a very attractive look when you get out of the bath I can tell you!

One week on my cuticles are badly split, flaking and have been bleeding. They are not pushed back properly.

Moving on to the nail polish. I chose an OPI colour - a brand I am familiar with and would use regularly.

Two coats were put on, you could still see my nails in patches through the colour, which is not usual with OPI. A top coat was applied and a spray of drying solution and a gallon of oil.

The drying spray is unnecessary - OPI will be totally dry in half an hour and will last a week no problem.

Whether it was the gallon of oil swimming over my polished nails or that the polish had been diluted to get as much out of the bottle as possible, or the drying spray was an inferior product - who knows

I sat in the salon for 30 minutes after my manicure but still they were wet to touch, I could not wait any longer as I had another appointment and to cut a long story short at 11.45pm that night (7 hours after it was applied) I removed the polish as it was still not dry and by this point looked dreadful

Seriously girls, spend your hard earned money somewhere else, it might be the in place to go, but you can get much much cheaper and certainly significantly better at a number of places in Dublin

Disgraceful customer service from the manager and will never use this salon again.I had been to Mink before as part of a hens party and decided to book my friend in for a mini pedicure for her birthday. I emailed the salon and asked to be booked in for a mini pedicure and this was confirmed by return email.

When we arrived we got our pedicures done and were happy with the service. I then went to the reception desk to pay and was informed that we had gotten 2 marine pedicures not mini pedicures. I disputed this and said I had asked for a mini pedicure by email. The manager I was dealing with asked me to produce proof of this email as they had so many emails to go through. I brought the confirmation emails up on my phone and the receptionist confirmed with the manager that I had asked for a mini pedicure not a marine pedicure. The manager then told me I was happy with the service and received extra treatment so I should pay extra for it. I told her it was outside my budget thats why I booked a mini pedicure and that I didn't realise I had gotten anything 'extra' as I don't get pedicures on a regular basis. She then asked me to pay half of the difference between the 2 costs and I reiterated that it wasn't the service that I had asked for. She said I would need to pay 75 euro. I told her I wasn't happy about it and she didn't offer anything else so I had to pay the 75 euro.

This was an extremely embarrassing situation to put me in especially as I had bought the pedicure for a friends present, who had to witness the whole thing. I was appalled at the managers customer service. I had no problem paying the 60 euro for the service I had requested considering the entire error was on Minks side but she insisted I pay more. At a time where people don't have much disposable income and the only thing that keeps customers coming back is good customer service I can definitely say my experience turned me off going to Mink ever again.

All of the other staff were very friendly and accommodating but the manager on duty needs some training on how to treat and retain customers.
