I love Mortons and go here quite often because it’s so near my house. It’s more expensive than Tesco, but you pay for the quality I think. I don’t buy my cheese anywhere else! And as Shelby said, the sandwiches are great.

Morton's is just down the road from where I live, so it has become my go-to shop for the basic bits and bobs I need to pick up throughout the week. I certainly can't afford to do all of my shopping there as everything is so expensive, but for milk and other such necessities it does the trick. For meats and cheeses, however, it can't be beat; they have a fantastic selection that is reasonably priced, along with a really friendly butcher who is always willing to order in whatever specific cut you may need. I'm also a fan of their deli sandwiches, especially "The Caesar," which are perfect to grab in the morning before catching the Luas. For less than a fiver for fresh bread and ingredients, it sure beats your average Spar hot chicken roll!

P.S. Morton's is one of only two places in this city where I have been able to find canned pumpkin, which is a dream come true for expat Americans like myself around the holidays!

Morton's is a nice little supermarket if not a bit on the pricey side - good meat and great cheese (Sheridan's Cheesemongers) can be found here - it's just good to see a non-chain (or at least a small chain!) doing well for once.

Also, parking can be a bit tricky if you're planning on doing a bigger shop.

Morton's used to be the grand dame of Ranelagh until the Luas came along and Morton's expanded their empire to include a cafe and an extensive deli. They also incorporated Lawlors butchers into their branch. If you are looking for something very special this is the place to come but the caveat to this is that you need to be prepared to pay the price! Everything here is overpriced and you're regularly overcharged at the till, so keep an eye on your receipts. Out of date items on shelves is not a rare occurrence either, so check your dates. Two stars for having a great, if not outrageously expensive, butcher and fish counter. Zero stars for the incredibly rude staff. Having said that the younger summer recruits are usually friendlier. If you want the special bits and pieces and don't mind paying the price, go to Donnybrook Fair in Donnybrook (not Baggot St) where the staff are on the ball and the wine and beer section is a hell of a lot better than Morton's dreary selection! All the above does not deter the dumbwitted Ranelagh ladies from spending their hard earned cash here. Go to the Best of Italy up the road for the best shop in the area with stock priced far more reasonably and super staff!

It is a mid sized supermarket, where the variety is a little bit fancy, but the meat counter is great, the burgers are yum, and the have a range of pre-marinaded meats. They also have Bombay Pantry microwave food. ;-)

It has a bit of everything but not a huge selection.
