The Artwork is varied in this Gallery and if it has the same Artists as Merrion Square, they prices are guaranteed the same. It is stocking well-known artists like Markey Robinson, Kenneth Webb and Robert Ballagh and then looking after the fresh artists that are starting out. The commission is low but we are in recession times so it is keeping its head above water and staying open by giving the customer what they want...affordable art - good quality with low commission. There are too many Galleries closing and having half price sales with their stock to pay their rents!
The Auction is completely seperate and some Artists have an option to put work into it, it is not open to everyone. Everyone understands it is a gamble, there is no charge to put work into it, which is unheard of anywhere else, so the Artist gets the full hammer price.
Nora Dunne Gallery is now hosting Irelands Smallest Gallery, a gallery of miniatures that are no bigger than 6inches.
It really has something for everyone and plenty of parking.
The hanging period is 3 weeks and if the work is good then the gallery takes in more of your work to keep the display fresh, it is never swapped into the auction.
It is the Artist that is in control of their work, the way it should be and Nora Dunne Gallery seems to be accomodating many artists that are trying to make a living!

Although nicely laid out, I feel this gallery it typical of the Ben Dunne selling experience, they seem to only want cheep paintings, if your painting doesn't sell within 2 weeks it will be returned or put up for auction, the auction has no reserves so your hard work could go for a euro, this gallery is bringing art down and cheapening it, maybe good for the buyer, but damn the artist and his/her hard work
