I have to say I was totally disappointed with this market. Fruit and veg aplenty but other than that there was a few dodgy looking 'cup cakes' and nothing else. Sheridan's cheese not in evidence, no nice breads or interesting chutneys/jams. It was a nothing market.

Try Marley or Leopardstown.

I discovered this market just a couple of months ago and find it a really good way to shop and a nice break from the norm - there's a great selection of vegetables, meat and cheese to choose from.... and the freshly baked breads, cakes and scones make even a hungover trip in the rain worth while (... trust me... I've been that soldier!).

I like it because you find a lot of things here you wouldn't normally find in a supermarket and the other bonus is that you get to taste most of the food before you buy it as well. The market itself starts at 10 and finishes around 4 but from my experience (so far!) proceedings start winding-up that bit earlier so I'd aim to get up there no later than 3. Parking is also a bit of an issue so if you can walk there, do, as not only will you save time parking you won't be able to carry as many cakes home either! ;)
