Real opened this its first restaurant here in Dun Laoghaire in 2007 to great success and is a hangout for "real" burger connoisseurs!

Outstanding burger, great chips & a beer. Pretty much my idea of heaven.
I cannot think of a restaurant that more fits with exactly how I like to be fed. And for Dublin the prices are bang on.

Could the real gourmet burger please stand-up? I know I remarked on this in my last review but seriously is it just me or has there been a total invasion of "Michelin Star" burger establishments in Dublin in just the past few months!? I'm not really complaining as once again my eternal quest for the perfect burger got the better of me, this time in Dun Laoghaire, and once again I was not disappointed. It has to be said though that Real* Gourmet Burger has a scarily similar set-up and appearance to Gourmet Burger Co. in Ranelagh (both menu and design wise). That said, it's a bit of a chicken and egg so I wouldn't like to hazard a guess to which came first but all I can say is that they're both equally as good. After queuing for a bit, we were seated. I had the straight forward burger and chips which was excellent. Surprisingly for such a busy place, the staff and service were also top notch. I'd give this place four stars except for the fact you always need to queue for a table and I prefer skinny McDonald's-like chips... (I know the queuing thing is not really their fault but the old Rolys restaurant next door has been empty for a while now so I think it might be a good idea if they took over that place too)... In saying all that, REAL* Gourmet Burger is still a very strong three star-er!
