This dealership is shamefully bad. I have tried to get a few things 'fixed' here over the past number of years (as it's my closest Renault dealer) but have never had any joy. I went in recently to get a quote for a fairly expensive part replacement and left with absolutely no idea of what they would charge me.

The parts dept can't tell you what the labour will cost, the receptionist does that. Then he asked me to go and look at my engine to see what the part number was - I had no idea what I was looking for - so he got a mechanic (well I did because I had to ask at reception for one; parts apparently can't talk to the mechanics!). The mechanic took my car away and came back 5 mins later with all the windows down and the stereo up. He had no idea what the part number was either (did he look?). So they told me I'd have to book the car in another day and it would cost €40 to hoist it up and give me a quote. Is there irony in that!?

I said I thought it was a bit strange that they couldn't give me an estimate just by knowing the part. He disagreed. So I asked for a ball park figure to which he said, "I dunno, 1200. And labour". Not really answering the question.

I've since booked it into another Renault garage (Airside in Swords) because they actually seemed to be interested in my problem (and my business) and could give me a quote straight away. And options.
