Oh the memories!
I've been here in many guises (not "in disguise" though!), with David for lunch, with family for dinner, with David for dinner, with a huge amount of friends pre-wedding celebrations, girlie nights out - the list is endless. We have always received such a warm welcome and have been very well looked after.
No matter what time of the day or what stage of the week, the place is always busy and with lots of atmosphere which is always nice to see during fuzzy times of economic strife. If you're used to a quiet intimate dinner for two, don't go upstairs! In the evening t's always great fun and super entertainment with a live band singing through from Wednesday to Saturday (not continually, they are allowed to go home in-between!). and if you plan on the later sitting, will be most welcome to go upstairs and join in the dancing!
It is definitely the place to go for fun, atmosphere and a very good meal with an excellent cocktail menu too. It really gives that extra bit of effort compared to the quieter Ananda, cosier Roly Saul, casual L'Officina (Dunne & Crescenzi) and refined Harvey Nichs - but if you're able!
Food is great, but sometimes in consistent along with the service. Despite this and all the times I've been there for the last 2 years, it still impresses me and with the fantastic welcomes from Gary, Michelle, Damon and the team, it will always be a firm favourite!
Good spot. Hadn't been to a Siam Thai before but was happy with how it turned out. The service was very good - impressive because it''s such a huge restaurant. I thought the food was pretty good too - i'm not sure i'm going to remember it as the best Thai meal of my life but I don't think there was anything to complain about either (and the girl singing upstairs added to the authenticity - you'll know what I mean when you see her!). I think each persons meal came to about €30 (starter, main & dessert). I would agree with the lift being a bit of a problem - they have their 'sitting' changeover at 9 (i think) and this can lead to long wait times for the lift; so you're just as quick using the stairs....
I had a meal there last evening . The food was good a, but I thought a heated plate would have helped to keep the main dish warm. The starter and desert were great. The staff were pleasent and efficient. The enterence by lift is slow .I would prefer if the stairs were more clearly marked.
I ate here last summer and it was absolutely forgettable. I would have remembered if it was outstanding or disastrous so it was clearly average at best.
I know I preferred the one in town - more intimate - whereas this place has a barn like feel to it.
my first visit here was on valentines for an early bird - you might have thought that based on that the meal/service would be average but it wasn't. Quite the opposite actually. the whole experience was superb. the food was delicious(mixed combo to start, then yellow chicken curry-gorgeous) and the staff were friendly, efficient yet discreet. a very pleasant and unassuming atmosphere. we have since returned and had another fantasticly flavoury meal with friends, and I look forward to our next trip. i'd highly recommend it for a quick bite or a leisurely evening and price wise wasn't too bad either.
The place was very busy at 6 on a Saturday evening. The decor is what you come to expect from a Thai Restaurant.
What I ate:
Veg Spring Rolls - This was boring with little or no flavour, and it tasted a little sweaty, I didn't finish
Green Chicken Curry - again there was not much to it. Flavour was average and although it said on the menu that the food was hot (in the spicy sense), it wasn't.
The one thing that was very good was the service. The staff work hard and are very helpful.
This is Siam Thai. It's been waiting for you. You have many questions about it, and although previous reviews have altered your consciousness, you remain irrevocably undecided. Ergo, some of my script you will agree with and some you will not. Concordantly while your first question may be the most pertinent, you may or may not realize it is also the most irrelevant.
Siam Thai is quite naturally perfect. It is a work of art. Flawless. Sublime. A triumph which has never been equalled. The staff, cuisine, and course intervals are experienced, immaculate, and impeccable respectively.
You are here reading this because you are about to make a reservation at Siam Thai. Failure to comply with this process will result in a cataclysmic system crash denying your taste buds what they so deserve. While it remains assiduously unavoidable, it is not unexpected, and thus not beyond a measure of your control. So welcome to Siam Thai.
Have been to siam thai numerous times and always leave completley satisfied! Beautifull food with perfectly sized portions, a little expensive but worth the money. Lovely decor and extremely clean toilets, with great staff. A must in my opinion.
Was looking forward to the opening of Siam Thai in Dundrum, but was disappointed on our visit. The owners seem to have attempted to position the Dundrum outlet as a more "upscale" version of their sister restaurant in the city centre, with prices to match. The food is as competent as their other outlets, but the service is average and the attitude of the maître d' was risibly pompous. We managed to get a good table, but the layout is somewhat unusual, with some tables located in what almost resembles a dancefloor. The noise levels make the restaurant better suited to larger groups. Overall I would be unlikely to return, given the superior options for Thai elsewhere in Dublin.
Nice atmosphere and mainly good layout give this place a good base to enjoy the nice food they serve. The menu is varied and not too expensive. Service has always been good and the portions are bigger it would seem in most cases then Siam Thai in town. I've yet to visit and not leave feeling satisfied.
I was pleasantly surprised by this place as I did not have high expectations for a thai restaurant that is part of a chain but the service was very good, the food was great and the bill was not to shocking so all in all I would really recommend it and will definitely be going back.
