I have never written a review online before but feel so strongly about my experience in this place that i have signed up to ratemyarea to add my opinion which might save someone else going thru the same.
I bought a voucher for a Dermalogica Facial plus Manicure or Pedicure. I quote from the offer below. I thought this would be an ideal way to treat my skin at a new salon just starting up and recruiting new clients though the deals site.
It was very difficult to arrange the appointment to start off with, non-committal texts over a period of about 2 weeks after purchase of the deal. When I arrived at the 'salon' I was shocked at the set up. 3 Beds squashed in a room with barely room to walk around. Uncomfortable! I looked at their website afterwards and well I just had to laugh.
I said I would choose the pedicure, which it turns out was to be done while the facial was going on. As I lay there being cleansed, the person doing the pedicure started pushing back the cuticles on my toes without any attempt to soften them first! "..Includes a relaxing manicure or pedicure..."
No client consultation occurred other than questions during the facial such as Have You Had a Dermalogica Facial Before? As I have, I felt confident as to what I should expect. As we were chatting it transpired that they did not have the masque that I know is suitable for my skin so I was offered to re-schedule. Not wanting to risk a bad reaction to an unsuitable masque I did so, and the 'pedicure' was stopped of course although the girl very kindly painted my toenails. I felt very uneasy for the rest of the day and was in two minds about going back, but decided to give them a fair shot at fulfilling the deal they sold.
When I came back 3 weeks later, they 'still had not had their stock delivery' and I was welcome to re-schedule again if I preferred. I did not really want to re-schedule again and said I would trust the therapists professional experience and that I would like to choose the Environment Control Facial (one of the 4 facials in the offer). "...There's loads of facials to choose from and each one lasts between 60 and 90 minutes..". She replied that what they usually do is use a chamomile mask on everyone but they use whichever 'additive' is appropriate for the client. As she reassured me this would be OK I agreed to proceed.
I was out within 40 mins of all this. "..Relax and enjoy a facial lasting at least an hour in a tranquil salon and with a dedicated and knowledgeable therapist..." As someone who trained in beauty therapy in the past, what I received was the most basic facial possible, using products which may have come out of Dermalogica bottles, but they did not feel familiar to me as someone who knows the products (I asked each time which product was being used). Rather than cause a scene I just left and vowed to read reviews before I buy any more vouchers.

I bought a deals voucher online for a facial, eyebrow shape and manicure for myself, my sister and as a present for my mother.
I was very disappointed with the whole service as I felt it was not run like a professional salon. They put all 3 of us in one room for the treatment which I didn't like, as it wasn't relaxing at all as we were all on top each other. They kept wandering around the room and running into my feet. They kept turning the lights on and off and the lady who was working on my sister disappeared for about 10 minutes to talk to someone but her facial finished at the same time as mine and my mothers.
The manicure was fine but the facial and eyebrow shaping were a joke. i have had demalogica facials before and they seem to have a set formula for them so they don't vary from salon to salon. This facial was fairly short and wasn't like any other facial I have had before. In short it was rubbish, she didn't remove my make up before she did it and I still had eye-liner on when I left the place.
She plucked a few token eyebrow hairs but they aren't shaped at all.
Overall, if I had another voucher I would bother redeeming it.

I have to say that almost everything about this salon disappointed me.
The manner of those that answer the phone (including the answering machine!) is very poor, and can be downright rude sometimes. My appointment was cancelled by them twice and there was no apologies just gruff rudeness.
When I arrived at the salon I waited in the waiting area for 10mins and nobody came to get me. I had to wander around the building myself and find them. The "salon" consists of 4 beds in 1 room so even when you're trying to relax there are people walking in and out, handing over vouchers, making appointments, hanging up coats, answering calls...its not very relaxing at all.
The woman who gave me my facial never introduced herself so I don't know her name but she rubbed my face like it was a washboard! At one point she actually applied a cream with such force it felt like she was slapping me! My facial was supposed to last an hour but she rushed through the whole thing so fast it barely lasted 30 minutes.
A facial is supposed to be a special treat but this experience was not only a waste of money but also a waste of my time. I have had quite a few facials usually salons that carry dermalogica products are of a higher standard, but this place was unprofessional and not in any way relaxing. I was very disappointed :(

I visited the salon on Saturday. I had a voucher-deal for facial and massage. I had a bit of difficulty finding the place. I eventually did, on arrival to the salon, you will notice that the layout is not as you would usually expect at a salon. There is no reception area. However instead, there are lots of people buzzing about - all happy to assist.
I made my appointment by text message (also a change from the norm) but within minutes of arriving I was relaxing on the massage bed.
The massage was lovely and the facial one of the best I have had in a while.
the prices and quality of service are very reasonable. I will return to this salon and am happy to recommend.
- great value - good service
