I hope this isn't the straw that breaks the camel's back....
..but this is a good Starbucks because it's never too busy - the proximity of books obviously being enough to repel young coffaholics.
Quiet, peaceful and plenty of book's nearby. One star off for the prevalent staining on the 'comfy' seats....
I agree, great little hide away, and very empty every time that I have been there. This is not a bad thing. The service is fast and the place very clean.
Have popped in here a good few times recently as I live in the area and often stop on the way to/from Tesco for a coffee and take some time to relax. Mike is right in saying that it's a nice hideaway, the Starbucks in the main centre is nearly always packed so this makes a nice change and the location in Hughes & Hughes is great too. I am a Starbucks fan though so maybe I'm a little biased!
For me, the jury is still out on Starbucks... but as Starbucks go this one's pretty good and actually lives up to what they say... "it's not the coffee, it's the coffee experience"! Perhaps it's the location... coffee shops seem to complement book shops pretty well and vice-versa. It's also located that bit further away from the madness of the shopping centre which means you can actually enjoy your coffee in a bit of peace and quiet. If you do decide to give it a go, you should try the croque-monsieur, it's very expensive (approx. €6.30) but as toasted ham and cheese sandwiches go it's extremely tasty (and nearly as addictive as the caffeine in their coffee!).
So all in all a good hideaway to know about and one that I'm hesitant to share!
