I wandered in here a while ago because I was looking for a slightly unusual type of meat. They didn't have the specific thing I was looking for, but they did have a really great selection of food and the prices weren't as bad as I was expecting! Their veg section is brilliantly varied, with lots of different fresh herbs on offer, which was surprising, given that it wasn't all that big. They have all the usual stuff on offer in the store (including some really good money-saving offers), but their huge selection of cheeses really surprised me. Unfortunately the one thing which they did have was a really, really nice fresh bakery section and although I wasn't able to drop a tenner on a chocolate cake at the time, I was so, so tempted. It's got a lot in common with Dunnes in terms of the selection and the price range, and I always prefer to shop somewhere like that than in Tesco, so I'll definitely be back. If only to get that delicious, delicious cake...

This is a really handy Supermarket to know about, it's bigger than your average Spar but it's still not a fully blown supermarket either. As Gareth F. rightly pointed out, its fresh food counters are well stocked and offer an excellent selection of cheeses, meats, pastries and baked bread. There's a good bit of parking out the back in case you want to a bigger shopping and there's even a small café in the front in case you want to take a rest (when doing a bigger shopping!). It's the Ranelagh equivalent of Tescos on Baggot Street but in my opinion it's a 100 times better (even though I'm not usually the biggest Superquinn fan!).
