visit 1 : for mains we both had burgers which were just ok. you get 3 topping options for your burger a) bacon & cheese 2) onion & mushroom or 3) bbq sauce anddddd something else i dont recall.

i got option 1 but my friend got option 2 and the onions were raw. i dont think anything raw should be considered as a topping - onion falls under the same category as tomato or lettuce.

for dessert my friend has an apple crumble. she asked for no topping or garnish and it came covered in berries, chocolate sauce and cream. i had the raspberry & amaretto cheesecake and it was actually really nice. i rarely find cheesecake that i like in ireland.

the service was just ok. the waiter had to be reminded to bring my friend her wine

visit 2 : my firend and i went in for dinner and asked since she only eats organis meat, asked if the burger was avail. the waiter gave us a 'no, thats just on the lunch menu' then came baclk saying he checked with the kitchen and it's ok. next time, check first, tell later.

visit 3: my friend and i went for lunch and i was very turned off by the service. things that bothered me :

- the very animated host walking around the restaurant touching his hair and wiping under his nose with his hands
- waiters clearing tables like they were in a pub, with their fingers in the glasses
- waiters deliver 3 or more drinks without trays, struggling to make it to the tables without spilling anything
- not being asked how our food was during the whole meal
- having the waiter come and take my friend's nearly full plate saying "you're both finished here?"
- the waiter not telling me that my sandwich came with a salad when i asked if it was the only one that didnt come with fries " no it doesn have fries" a good waiter would say " BUT it does have a salad"
- the waiter not offering us a dessert menu, instead making us ask 15 mins after he cleared our plates
- ....him never actually bringing the menu since he was too busy playing on his mobile ..WHILE clearing a vacant table
- when we flagged him down for the bill he says " you're not having dessert?" well no, cos you never brought the bloody menu,

on the bright side i didnt need to leave a tip. i spent 9 hrs onmy feet the night before, giving good service to people and didnt feel like sharing the fruits of my labour with him.

i wont go back. service brought this place from 4 stars to 2.

it's a shame cos my sandwich was actually good.

60 of us went there one Saturday in December for a Christmas lunch. I wasn't expecting much and was more than pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and the service. It was tasty, well presented and served by efficient friendly staff.

Well done!
