I visited The Church with my family for dinner.
We were very disappointed with the food we ordered in the Gallery Restaurant upstairs .
The food was bland and flavourless.
Three out of the four starters we not good and three out of the four mains were not good either.
The service was the only good about the place.
This for us was an experience not worth repeating.

I visited this place last Friday night. For me it's a bit out-of-the-way, but I thought at least it has the alure of being a bit unusual compared to most other pubs in the city. We had an area reserved for us but probably could have managed without making the effort as it never got full. It was busy but not full. We had a platter of food that I thought was good for pub-grub - not greasy at all.

Late in the night I ordered a drink at the bar which they got a bit wrong (dark rum not light). The staff flatly refused to replace it so I'm afraid they've earned one less star for it. I'd go back but probably for a meal and a few pints rather than just the pints - it's a bit far off the beaten track for me.

It's the perfect venue for Dublin's first beer hall though, München-style.
