Reviews for The Market Bar
Write a Review The Market Bar reviews feedi ve had good & bad experiences here but things are generally going downhill.
good points :
- big portions
- good prices
bad points:
- my bf got food poisoning
- so did my friend, 3 mnths later
- the service is usually bad (try not to yell NACHOS!" and slam down the plate, waitress)
-they close at 11 on thurs but starting kicking us out at 10 . coming to the table 3 times in 5 mins to get the dessert order then asking 'anything else before i bring you the bill?" isnt good etiquette, either is clearing glasses off our tables while we're still sitting...either is having someone mop and stink the room up with cleaning liquids...either is flashing the lights...did i mention there were about 10 tables left in the place?
-not taking reservations for tables under 15ppl, saying 6 of us will have no problem getting in... then not having a table for us when we show up
-horrible sangria
i dunno about this place anymore.
Good place to go. Was here on a Friday night and the place was packed. We got seats in the eating area (down the back) straight away. The tapas was good - you're limited to an hour and a half to eat but in the midst of drinking that's plenty of time. Service was pretty good but bear in mind it can take a while for your drinks to come from the bar on a busy night - so order your next ones when you get them! The gothicy decor inside adds to the atmosphere but I don't really get why there are shoes on one of the walls...
really like this place. it's great if you're looking for somewhere to sit down for a drink
Great for Tapas and a few drinks during the week or earlier in the evening at weekends. The food is very good value, really tasty and the portions are generous - perfect for sharing. You might have to wait for a table but it's never usually too long and you can gets drinks at the bar while you wait. This place always seems pretty full so there's a good atmosphere, no music though so tends to be better for a few drinks earlier in the night.
