I went to see a production in The New Theatre last night called 'A Year in the Life' by Tabs Theatre Productions. I saw their last production of 'Never After' in Smock Alley and thought it was brilliant so I was interested to see what they did next. I was surprised at how different this show was to the last one. Equally as good but so different. I think it's cool that they are doing such a variety of different styles. 'A Year in the Life' was funny and dark, very well acted and the pace was incredible. Kept me on my toes to the very end. Loved it and highly recommend it. Just a pity that it's such a short run. Go see it while you can

I went to see a play here last night, called 'Stags & Hens', that my cousin was starring in and really enjoyed the night.

The theatre is intimate and is located at the back of a socialist book shop so as you can probably imagine this place bellows bohemianism! There's also no such thing as a bad seat in this theatre which means you don't get the pillar worries like you do in the Olympia and Gaiety theatres, and it's also more like Aer Lingus than Ryanair when it comes to legroom!

The interval drinks (comprising of wine, coffee & tea) were served in the bookshop and you're allowed bring them into the theatre with you too.... so you can watch the second half sipping on a cup of tea or a nice glass of vino - which I thought was a really nice touch and something I'd never experienced in a theatre before! They also provide sweets at half time, free of charge, but be warned you can become the centre of attention very quickly if you start noshing on 'chew-its' like my neighbour did during the second half!!!

All in all, a fun night out and a nice break from the norm.
