I had read good reviews of "the Streats" so at the first opportunity I gathered what I regarded as well balanced work colleagues together and we hit the road in earnest. It was an overcast breezy day, I remember it well, almost like it was earlier in the day. One of my colleges had been to "the streats" before and gave a glowing review. I always regarded him with respect even with his physical difficulties which I found out afterwards had a by product of smelly shoes. The other two colleagues, both equally difficult, challenged and demanding often talked amusingly about their "team sports" they pursued with groups of men every evening. On entering the establishment I thought I noticed a smile on the corner of the smelly ones mouth but I put this down to his "difficulties". I ordered the "bread & Breakfast" panini and carried my over sized number to the table. What arrived could only be considered a joke ( I was sure I heard an outburst of laughter from the direction of the kitchen. I received half a sausage, half a boiled egg sliced to within an inch of existence and the fat off two rashers. Two minutes later I had finished eager for the joke to end and awaited the correct panini to arrive. After witnessing what I can only describe a barbarous behaviour from my colleagues I decided that a shift exit was the only method of survival. I hope and pray no man ever has to watch three "grown" men eat with such savagery as I did today. The apple pie did look appetising tho!

The Streat is a super little bistro with a superb ambience and great value for money.
The breakfast panini in particular is sublime and really fills you up at lunch time. All in all a great place to go for a break from your hard day at the office.
Well done, The Streat! Keep up the good work!
