In 1999, The Sugar Club was born - a funky new nightclub and music venue housed in an old cinema (formerly The Irish Film Theatre). The tiered cinema seating was kept but replaced with plush velvet couches. A state of the art digital projector and high-end sound system were installed to give the best possible viewing and listening.

Great show tonight from Fabrice Eboue. HOWEVER the ticket price on the posted on the ads and on the net was 17euros but as we hadn't booked it was 25 euros !!!

I didn't understood the reason, it doesn't make any sense at all, sounds like a scam!!

This has become a bit of a regular after-pub venue for me over the last year or so. It's a pretty good spot to hang out. The terraced seating is welcome because it provides a good haven to chillax if the bar section at the back gets too crowded - and too crowded it will get. It's a good live music venue too (earlier in the night) and you can usually catch the end of some gig if you arrive before the club opens. I think it's a bit pricey at €15 but these days that's probably only average. You can rent out the side-bar for private functions which means you get a nice non-crowded area with it's own bar away from the rif-raf....
