Founded by Andrew Rogers in 1818, the namesake of the lane on which it stands. The pub was then renamed to James Toner who took over the license in 1923. He developed the pub as a bar and grocery shop. Today, Toner’s is one of Dublin’s oldest and most famous traditional pubs, and a favourite amongst locals.

Raters say we are...  simplicity, snugs, old skool, guinness

Worthy of the full 5. This is a great place for some good pints and some good chats. The aforementioned snug is it's piece-de-resistance. Unusual to actually get it, but if you do it's not a good idea to leave (until you have to). Handy spot if you're a local worker or if you're on your way into town for the night - if you have a bad night here, you can only have yourself to blame....but you won't....

If you like snugs, poured concrete floors and a decent pint of plain then Toners is the place for you... it's O'Donoghue's without the price tag and Doheny & Nesbitt without the pretense.

There is also a room upstairs that can be rented out for the evening (for free!) which can accommodate any type of celebration from a pre-debs to a 30th birthday party.

I like this place a lot!
